It has been a summer full of rainbows and butterflies! Well... crocheted rainbows and butterflies. It started in June when London put up a large crocheted rainbow on Melrose in LA. It's up permanently in front of the store 'Paper Bag Princess'. If you're ever in the area, make sure to snap a photo!

The next rainbow came the following month at OZY Fest in NYC. This time it was interactive. People were encouraged to write a message of hope for the future!

And just for fun, a rainbow to warm the streets of Bushwick, Brooklyn!

The first butterfly installment came early August at an event put on by Lion Brand Yarn. It was a lovely (and windy) day. Perfect for spreading some crocheted wings!

Next came some even larger butterfly wings at an event at The Foundry District in Fort Worth, Texas. We had so much fun installing the wings and meeting everyone who came out to take pictures in front of them! These are up permanently as well! S(wing) by if you're ever in the area!

Last but not least, London installed her final rainbow of the summer in upstate New York at the famous Dutchess County Fair! This time, people were encouraged to write what makes them smile and tie it to the rainbow. It became a powerful piece and one that attracted a lot of attention. It was the perfect way to end the summer!

In a time where everyday there seems to be something tragic in the news, it's nice to be able to escape reality for a bit and smile in front of a rainbow or butterfly. Am I right?
