September is here. That means summer is coming to an end and so is the heat. THANK GOD. This was quite frankly the hottest summer of my life. **I’m from California, so I’m not used to the hot, sticky, NY summer weather. But, alas, I made it out alive. **I was a theater major so I also tend to be a bit dramatic.
Anyway, the point of this blog is not to vent about the weather, but to inform you on London’s latest job. She was hired by Gap to yarnbomb the set of their holiday commercial. She had a week to pull it off. This included yarnboming a freaking bus! But she did it with the help of her amazing crochet team. Shout out to everyone involved! As London’s sister/roomy I was there to witness it all. Having a week to pull something this massive off, brought about a lot of anxiety. “Is it all going to be done on time?, “Who’s going to drive the bus?” “Do I need to drive the bus?” “I’m scared of driving a bus!” “Wait… you’re giving me the keys to the bus?” “I guess I’m driving a bus.” You know, typical anxiety. We’ve all been there.
The day of the shoot arrived, and after unsuccessfully attempting to drive the bus, GAP decided to hire a professional bus driver named Pierre to drive it safely to set. He was a gem. And so was everyone involved in the commercial. London and I had so much fun on set. It was for their winter collection so even though it was scolding hot, there was artificial snow on the ground which made the heat seem bearable. Her yarnbombs were being treated like royalty and I was so proud. I’ve attached pics from the shoot. But make sure to keep an eye out this winter for the commercial to air!
And just for fun... Here's a little behind the scenes of attempting to drive this school bus.
